We're Hiring: Main Street Altus is Looking for Its Next Program Director!

Do you love downtown Altus? Are you passionate about community revitalization, local businesses, and bringing people together? Main Street Altus is currently hiring a new Program Director—and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to lead with energy, creativity, and purpose.

As a nationally recognized Main Street community, we believe in the power of place. From Rock-N-Rumble to the 12 Days of Christmas, and all the small businesses and historic charm in between, Altus deserves someone who will help drive the vision forward.

🏛️ About the Role

The Program Director serves as the primary on-site leader of the Main Street Altus organization. This role is dynamic and multifaceted—part community cheerleader, part project manager, and part small business advocate.

Key responsibilities include:

• Promoting and preserving downtown Altus through design, promotion, organization, and economic vitality.

• Coordinating events like Farm Fest, Walkin’ on Chalk, and Rock-N-Rumble.

• Supporting local property owners and businesses with design improvements, business growth, and community engagement.

• Managing office operations, program budgets, marketing, public speaking, partnerships, and data tracking.

• Acting as the face of Main Street Altus at local, state, and national events.

💡 What We’re Looking For

We need someone who is:

• Entrepreneurial and imaginative

• Highly organized and self-motivated

• A skilled communicator who enjoys working with people

• Experienced in managing events, coordinating volunteers, and working with public agencies

Experience with marketing, grant writing, budgeting, and downtown development is a plus!
