Bringing Cars, Crowds and Community Spirit to Downtown Altus
What a weekend! Rock N. Rumble 2026 brought the sights, sounds, and excitement of automotive culture back to downtown Altus. From the rows of incredible vehicles to the live entertainment, family activities, and crowds gathered along Main Street, downtown was truly alive.
This year felt especially exciting because more of the event returned to the heart of downtown. Vendors filled the Equity parking lot, while food trucks and additional vendors welcomed guests in the newly renovated Courthouse parking lot. The new layout created a more connected and walkable experience, and we were thrilled to hear so much positive feedback from participants and visitors. After recent downtown construction, it was wonderful to see these spaces full of people again!
The car show welcomed 235 registered vehicles representing 63 cities across Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and Colorado. Every available show space downtown was filled with classic cars, custom builds, trucks and motorcycles. Seeing our streets lined with so much chrome, color and personality was an incredible reminder of how much Rock N’ Rumble has grown.
While 105 of the registered show vehicles came from Altus, another 130 traveled from communities throughout Oklahoma and from as far away as Texas, Kansas and Colorado. We loved welcoming so many visitors to our community and giving them the opportunity to experience downtown Altus, support our local businesses and see what makes our city special.
The excitement continued with one of Altus’ favorite traditions: the Saturday Night Cruise. This year’s cruise recorded an incredible 521 registrations from 53 cities across Oklahoma and Texas. Main Street was filled with vehicles as families and friends gathered along the route with lawn chairs, tents, grills and coolers. There is something special about watching our community line the streets to visit, wave and cheer as the vehicles cruise by. It is more than a drive—it is a true Altus tradition.
Beyond the impressive numbers, Rock N’ Rumble is really about community. It brings people together, introduces new visitors to Altus and creates meaningful support for our local businesses. It also takes an incredible amount of teamwork, and we are so grateful for everyone who helped make the weekend possible.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Main Street Altus Board Members Lindsay Reid, Rick Hammock, Kyle Williams, Sam Braker, Jacy Kerr, Arriea'una Davis, Brayden Lehew, Kevin English, Allen Collins, Alicia Lobaugh, Barbara Tims, and Program Director Kelly Beane. These individuals gave countless hours of their time before, during and after the event to help bring Rock N’ Rumble to life.
We are also incredibly grateful to our car show judges, local radio stations, the Altus Police Department, City of Altus employees, Altus Parks and Recreation, Mayor Robert Garrison, City Manager Gary Jones, Miss Altus, Miss Altus Teen and their Stars, our very generous sponsors and every volunteer who shared their time and talents with us.
Most importantly, thank you to every participant, spectator and community member who joined us. Whether you entered a vehicle, cruised Main Street, visited our vendors or simply came downtown to enjoy the weekend, you were part of what made Rock N’ Rumble 2026 so memorable.
We loved seeing downtown Altus filled with cars, families, friends and community pride—and we are already looking forward to doing it all again.
